A Sparrow in Terezin
"A Sparrow in Terezin"
Kristy Cambron

Bound together across time, one woman gathers strength and courage from another's story of survival in the darkest days of a war torn world.

Present day - Sera James fairy tale of a charmed life is threatened when as soon as they say "I do", her new husband is arrested for a crime he didn't commit.  Sera believes in her husband's innocence, but sets out to discover what he is hiding from her.   He knows something, but he isn't telling all of the information which will prove he is not guilty.

1942 - Kaja Mackovsky narrowly escaped Nazi-occupied Prague in 1939 and was forced to cleave behind her half-Jewish family.  She escaped to England and goes to work as a reporter for The Daily Telegraph, but the long arm of terror has followed her across the Channel as she is injured in the London Blitz.

She learns that Jews are being killed by the thousands and she knows she must go back and face the Nazi's to free her parents against the wishes of Liam, who wants to marry her.  She sees how her plan will not work and allows herself to be captured.

The common link between Sera & Kaja is a Holocaust survivor who uses the past to help solve the present.

Learn how faith is necessary for survival.

If you have not read book #1 "The Butterfly and the Violin", or it has been a while since you read it, I suggest you do to better help you understand this book.

I enjoy  how the author goes back & forth in time.  We can always learn from the past how to best handle the future.

The present day story was sometimes unclear, which is why I want to read both books together to see if this clears up some of the confusion.
